Shake, Shake, Shake...

A few weeks after Nate and I got engaged I had the idea of wanting to do a surprise wedding dance. I knew that I wanted our first dance to be normal and not a surprise dance so I started to think what about the wedding party. Well of course when I get an idea in my head I put all my effort towards it. I began talking to my friends seeing what their reaction would be. They were all in. So the planning began. I would love to say it was so easy and fast but it was difficult and took some time. I took about 8 songs and cut them into a mixed CD. I then asked my bridesmaid and dancer, Shelby, if she could help with the moves. She did so much hard work. I give her ALOT of the credit. As of rehearsal time on Friday night the whole wedding party had not practiced the dance altogether. And...the boys had never practiced or heard the song. To make a long story short, after rehearsal dinner Curtis Eben opened the High School gym for us and we practiced the song for about 2 hours. It was so much fun and the boys were having a blast. They came up with most of the moves on the spot, it was impressive. And the rest is history. We surprised everyone, including my mom who THOUGHT she knew about everything with the wedding (but she didn't :)Anyway, watch for yourself as we had a blast and surprised our audience. We even did an encore later in the night because we had so many requests!

Every time I watch the dance I laugh at something different! So fun!!!

Honeymoon...

Nate and I had the best honeymoon ever! It was a unique honeymoon because I had no idea where we were going. Nate planned the SURPRISE HONEYMOON!! He finally told me where we were going at 3:30 AM as we sat in the airport. I immediately got butterflies in my stomach because I was sooooo excited!

I kept a journal of our honeymoon with more details so I will only write a few highlights of our trip.

On the second day of our honeymoon, Nate and I were sitting in the hot tub  (a Mexican hot tub is bath water warm). I looked over at Nate and told him that we needed to make some friends. First, we started talking to a couple from Texas. They were very nice and also on their honeymoon. After talking for awhile another couple came into the hot tub. Turned out this couple was on their honeymoon and was from IOWA! The last couple that came into the hot tub was from Arkansas and they were also on their honeymoon. After several hours of talking, we were instant friends. We were the Hot tub Honeymooners! From that day on we hung out with these three couples every day and went out to eat every night.

On Thursday of our honeymoon, we went outside of our resort to a outdoor park called Xplorer. Our day was full of ziplining, riding ATVs through the jungle, and swimming through caves. They couple from Iowa, Kyle and Abby, went on this adventure with us. It was so much fun.
