Illinois...

Well, I never thought I would say this but we are currently living in ILLINOIS! Seems as though we have been living all along the border of Iowa. In Maryville, MO we lived about 30 minutes from Iowa and now we live 2 minutes away from Iowa. Actually, only a bridge over the Mississippi River separates us from the state we love!

How did we get to Illinois?
Well, to make a long story short Nate's freshman roommate, Collin, became a lifelong friend. As we got to know his family through the years, we all became family. Collin and his family are from Geneseo, Illinois which is about 20 minutes from Iowa border. When Nate decided to go to Chiropractic school in Davenport we decided to try and find a place to live with Collin as he was working for his uncle's Roofing and Granite company in Davenport. Our goal was to find a reasonable house or apartment to rent in Davenport.

BUT...

At a Bearcat game this fall, Collin's grandma, Sherry, pulled me to the side to talk with me. She mentioned to me that she had a house on the shore of the Mississippi River on the Illinois side. She continued to inform me that she only stayed at the house in the summer otherwise she stayed at her house in Florida. Grandma Sherry ended by saying "I would love to open my house to you, Nate, and Collin." I instantly gave her a hug, as it was a HUGE sigh of relief. Prior to talking with Grandma Sherry, I had been searching online for apartments but found it hard without having a chance to visit.

To Grandma Sherry- We cannot thank you enough for providing a home for us while we find an apartment. You are a blessing to us! Not only did you provide a shelter for us, it is a beautiful home and location! :)
It is so refreshing to know that we can rest in the strength and comfort that God will provide. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19

Here are some pictures of where we are currently living...

The amazing Kitchen + our "roommate" Collin :) working? or talking to Brittany? Hmm

Kind of dark, but this is the upstairs living room, so beautiful

Our walk-in closet! Yes it is full, and no you can't see all of it :)
Our bathroom downstairs
Our huge bedroom
Our downstairs Oasis! This is where we hang out most of the time! Walks out to patio
My favorite view! The beautiful view from the kitchen/living room of the Mississippi River. You can see the lock and dam too!

Well as you can we are spoiled to be living here! Thanks again Grandma Sherry!
Now all we need are visitors! :)
